Meet Sally…
As a child, I was always intrigued by the natural world. I much preferred being outside playing, making dens and foraging to create ‘potions’. I loved and still truly love nature and was generally covered in mud and water as a child. As I grew I became aware of both landscapes and the climate changing. I wondered why more wasn’t being done to protect the countryside and planet I love. My early concern for the environment become a lifelong passion, and has shaped my life.
I am a passionate educator, mother of two gorgeous boys and published author. I have shared my passion for knowledge and curiosity at home, in the classroom and beyond. I sincerely hope I have encouraged others to look more closely at the world around them and connect with Mother Nature.
When I’m not working I love entertaining. I have always had a passion for flavour and a flair for events that express my creativity. My early love of cocktails began with much-anticipated yearly themed cocktail parties. Drawing upon my world travel and years spent seeking out the very best drinks (I know it’s a tough job but someone had to do it!), from rooftop bars in far-off cities to tucked-away pop-ups I wove together ideas, themes and recipes.
When COVID lockdown hit, I created my “Quarantini Du Jour” uploads on Facebook. These playful, uplifting cocktail posts reached out to my friends and family. This sparked my first dabble in social media for real and I started In The Mix on TikTok. This was such fun as I created and shared original recipes, top tips, reviews and behind-the-scenes glimpses into the art of cocktails.
By 2023, this passion had grown into a thriving cocktail events and masterclass business an idea first sparked when I built (with help!) a mobile bar for a friend’s wedding on the beach the previous summer.
2025 saw the launch of the first range of Conscious Cocktails. Yes, it’s about delicious cocktails; but it’s also about telling a story with recipes inspired by nature, by my life and the belief that pleasure and responsibility can (and should) go hand-in-hand.
