Meet Sally…

As a child, I was always was captivated by the natural world. I preferred being outside playing and foraging wild berries, gathering elderflowers and rose petals. I found joy in nature at every turn and was generally covered in mud and water. However, seeing landscapes and climate change I wondered why more wasn’t being done to protect the countryside and planet I love. My early concern for the environment become a lifelong passion, and has shaped how I have lived my life and directions I have chosen.

I am a passionate educator, mother of two gorgeous boys and published author. I have shared my passion for knowledge and curiosity at home, in the classroom and beyond, and I sincerely hope I have encouraged others to look more closely at the world around them and feel inspired.

When I’m not working I love entertaining and have always had a passion for flavour and a flair for events. My early love of cocktails began with much-anticipated yearly themed cocktail parties, inspired by my world travel and years spent seeking out the very best drinks (I know it’s a tough job but someone had to do it!), from rooftop bars in far-off cities to tucked-away pop-ups.

When COVID lockdown hit, I created my “Quarantini Du Jour” uploads on Facebook- playful, uplifting cocktail posts that reached out to friends and family. This sparked my first dabble in social media for real and I started In The Mix on TikTok. This was such fun as I created and shared original recipes, top tips, reviews and behind-the-scenes glimpses into the art of cocktails.

By 2023, this passion had grown into a thriving cocktail events and masterclass business an idea first sparked when I built (with help!) a mobile bar for a friend’s wedding on the beach the previous summer.

Now it’s 2025 and Conscious Cocktails isn’t just about delicious cocktail. It’s about telling a story with recipes inspired by nature, by my life and the belief that pleasure and responsibility can (and should) go hand in hand.
